Life of Pi Ep.70: The ghost wanted a horror movie

Published · 33s

A musical fidget toy turns a ghost's creaky door into the opening of Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D minor. This is an echoPi video. echoPi is an EDC fidget slider and pocketable instrument: its clicks are real physical stops you can set up in the app, and every click can play a note. Turn the sound off and it becomes a quiet fidget for the office. echoPi is in development.

A ghost tried to scare Pi with a creaky door. Pi brought Bach.

Midnight. A door creaks open down the hallway and a sheet ghost drifts in, waiting for Pi to scream. Pi plays along instead: every creak gets a note, until the longest creak becomes the bass line of a toccata. So the ghost grabs a lamp for a bigger scare, and Pi saves the biggest chord for the right moment.

Music: J. S. Bach, Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV 565 (public domain), own arrangement.
