Midnight popcorn, too loud for movie night.
Every pop in the microwave gets a beat from Pi's slider. The pops get faster, the drums get louder, it turns into a groove and a drum solo, and his roommate comes over to nod along. Then Pi hits one crash too hard. The microwave door bursts open and popcorn sprays the kitchen. Silence. And then, finally: ding. The roommate tosses a kernel onto Pi, who flicks it into his mouth.
