Life of Pi Ep.63: Pi tried to drown out the neighbour's drill. Now they're a duo.

Published · 32s

A musical fidget slider plays a lullaby on a neighbour's drill to drive him off, and ends up with a duet partner. This is an echoPi video. echoPi is an EDC fidget slider and pocketable instrument: its clicks are real physical stops you can set up in the app, and every click can play a note. Turn the sound off and it becomes a quiet fidget for the office. echoPi is in development.

Every click, a hole

Saturday, 8 a.m. Next door, a neighbour starts drilling holes in a pegboard. Every time Pi pushes a click, the drill jumps to that row and bores a hole. So Pi plays a lullaby to drive him off, harder and harder, but the neighbour loves it and drills along. Pi's biggest push punches the last hole clean through. The neighbour carries his whole workbench over, sets it under Pi's window, bows, and tosses up a pair of earmuffs. Pi gives in and plays one more note.

Music: Brahms, Lullaby, Op. 49 No. 4 (1868, public domain), own arrangement and variation.
