Life of Pi Ep.50: Pi matched the kettle's whistle. The teacup did not survive.

Published · 32s

A musical fidget slider matches a whistling kettle note for note, until the pitch is high enough to crack a teacup. This is an echoPi video. echoPi is an EDC fidget slider and pocketable instrument: its clicks are real physical stops you can set up in the app, and every click can play a note. Turn the sound off and it becomes a quiet fidget for the office. echoPi is in development.

Every matched note ripples the steam

A kettle shrieks on the stove. Pi plays along, and every time his note hits the whistle's pitch, the steam ripples. Faster and higher, until he leaps for the top note and holds it. The teacup in the owner's hand bursts. Pi tries one tiny note. The saucer cracks too.

Music: Grieg, In the Hall of the Mountain King from Peer Gynt (1875, public domain), own arrangement.
