CIVIVI vs Kizer vs WE Knife: 2026 Brand Guide
CIVIVI is WE Knife's value brand, mostly $35 to $165 in stock. Kizer is a separate company at roughly $29 to $359. WE Knife itself runs about $128 to $894. Choose by budget first, then by lock type.
What this page covers
CIVIVI, Kizer and WE Knife all make folding pocket knives in China and sell them worldwide. They aren't interchangeable: they sit at different prices, and two of the three are the same company. We read each maker's own store and spec pages on October 1, 2026. We haven't handled these knives, so this is a comparison of specs, prices and policies, not a hands-on test. Prices move with sales, so treat every number as a snapshot.
How the three brands connect
WE Knife Co., Ltd. says it was founded in 2000 "to provide OEM manufacturing services to some of the top names in the cutlery industry," and that its own WE Knife brand launched in 2016 (WE Knife). CIVIVI's About page says "in 2018 WE introduced the CIVIVI brand to specifically focus on offering a functional, utilitarian, EDC product line at more affordable prices" (CIVIVI). So CIVIVI and WE are one company with two price tiers, not rivals.
You can see the link in the catalogs. Both list Ben Petersen as designer of their Banter models (CIVIVI Baby Banter, WE Banter), and both sell an Elementum. Neither About page names a city. Knife Informer lists WE's headquarters as Guangdong (Knife Informer).
Kizer is a different company. Böker, its German distributor, says it is "headquartered in Guangzhou, China" and was founded in 2012 (Böker). Kizer's own history page says it "got its start in knives in 2013" (Kizer), so sources differ by a year. Knife Informer lists a different parent, Tizi Outdoor (Knife Informer).

CIVIVI: the value tier
The CIVIVI Elementum C907A is listed at $59 with a 2.96-inch D2 blade rated HRC59-61, a G10 handle, a liner lock and a caged ceramic ball bearing pivot. It weighs 2.89 oz (CIVIVI). It is a flipper, meaning you press a tab on the spine to snap the blade out. The name now covers dozens of listings: Nitro-V and Damascus blades, Lexan and wood handles, slip-joint and fixed-blade versions, and titanium handle scales sold as compatible at $77.95.
The Baby Banter is the pocket-sized pick. The C19068S-10 lists a 2.34-inch Nitro-V blade, a titanium thumb stud, a nested liner lock and a weight of 1.99 oz at $73 (CIVIVI). Other G10 versions were $70. A thumb stud is a peg on the blade you push with your thumb. Elementum and Baby Banter 2 variants also appear on CIVIVI's Best Sellers page (CIVIVI).
Strengths: a ceramic-bearing flipper at $59, wide handle choice, and a cheap entry point such as the $35 Mini Praxis flipper in D2.
Trade-offs: in-stock folders topped out near $164, so if you want titanium frame locks or CPM MagnaCut, that's WE's range. The Baby Banter is small by design.
Kizer: tunable locks, mid-range prices
The Kizer Drop Bear, designed by Azo, starts at $69 in the Nitro-V version with a wood handle. It lists a 2.97-inch drop-point blade, a thumb stud and a 2.48 oz weight (Kizer). Its Clutch Lock is the interesting part. Kizer describes a crossbar-style lock with an adjustable "Gemini Spring system" offering "five times five to be 25 customize options," so thumb-side and index-finger-side tension can differ (Kizer). The 154CM aluminum version is $119, and the Drop Bear Zero with an M390 hollow-ground 3.1-inch blade and a Button Liner Lock is $119.95 (Kizer).
Kizer also lists designer collaborations, such as Jonathan Styles' Mini Militaw, and Böker says its designs are developed "in-house or in collaboration with renowned American knifemakers" (Böker).
Strengths: its own lock designs (Clutch Lock, Button Liner Lock, KineticFit Button Lock) in the $60 to $130 band, and designer-led models.
Trade-offs: the catalog is big and sale-heavy. The Mini Militaw was $32.98 against a $65.95 regular price (Kizer). Kizer's FAQ quotes a "limited lifetime warranty," says postage is the customer's cost, and gives a 30 to 45 day turnaround (Kizer FAQ).
WE Knife: the premium tier
WE's in-stock folders started at $128 and ran to $894, with Damasteel and Timascus pieces at the top (WE Knife). The WE Banter is $128 with a 2.9-inch CPM S35VN blade, a liner lock and a 2.86 oz weight. The Temper, a titanium frame-lock flipper with an M390 blade, is listed at $370 and "Limited to 200 Pcs" (WE Knife).
Strengths: titanium frames, premium steels and limited runs.
Trade-offs: few entry-level options. The cheapest in-stock folder was well above CIVIVI's $75 median.
Same name, two builds: the Elementum
| CIVIVI Elementum C907A | WE Elementum WE18062XA-1 | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $59 | $217.60 |
| Blade | 2.96 in, D2, hollow grind | 2.96 in, CPM MagnaCut, flat grind |

Opening and locking
Opening and locking are different jobs. Flippers, thumb studs and thumb holes open the blade. Liner locks, frame locks, button locks and crossbar-style locks hold it open. All three brands offer most of these, so your choice is rarely about whether a style exists; it comes down to price and materials. All three also sell slip joints, which don't lock.
Knife-carry rules vary by state and country, so check your local rules before you carry. The UK government's knife law page is one example of an official explainer.
